Honey, What should we do?

Pastor Dwain Faith

NIV;  Galatians 4:1  What I am saying is that as long as the heir is a child, he is no different from a slave, although he owns the whole estate.   2  He is subject to guardians and trustees until the time set by his father.   3  So also, when we were children, we were in slavery under the basic principles of the world.   4  But when the time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under law,   5  to redeem those under law, that we might receive the full rights of sons.   6  Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba, Father.”   7  So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a son, God has made you also an heir.

Paul says to the Galatians here that we are now possessors of all things, we are heirs of God now through Christ and that we’ve been delivered out of the limited life they experienced under the Old Covenant.    Though this is true many of us are still living like slaves, living far under our inheritance and privilege, living like we have talk God into giving us good.

Let’s discuss a Slaves perspective.   Which for this study and according to the scripture, is exactly the same as a child’s perspective.

1.  A slave (or child) does not know Fathers will.

2.  A Slave or child does not know what to do.

Since they don’t consider that they’ve been brought in to the counsel of God’s will, they aren’t meant to understand what’s happening to them, they don’t know what to do about the storms of life.

Their told by other slaves (children) and those under the law, “just trust God, it will be ok.”

But this is not the relationship we now are ordained for.

We are ordained for understanding through fellowship with the Holy Spirit.

John 15: 7  “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it shall be done for you.  8  “By this is My Father glorified, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples.

1 Cor. 2: 9  However, as it is written: “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him”–  10  but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.

2 Cor. 13: 14  May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

Acts 2: 17  “‘In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.  18  Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.
