The progression of faith
First your hear or read the Word of God. Then, by the Spirit, it becomes alive to you. When this happens you can believe it in your heart. This is having a right relationship with the Word of God, a believing relationship. It is growing and bearing fruit in your heart. Next you need to speak the Word. Confess the Word. Agree with the Word!
Romans 10:9 That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. NIV
Faith must be said to become effective in the tangible realm.
Galatians 6:7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.
Luke 17:5 And the apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!” 6 And the Lord said, “If you had faith like a mustard seed, you would say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and be planted in the sea’; and it would obey you.
Matthew 17:17 And Jesus answered and said, “O unbelieving and perverted generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring him here to Me.” 18 And Jesus rebuked him, and the demon came out of him, and the boy was cured at once. 19 Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not cast it out?” 20 And He said^ to them, “Because of the littleness of your faith; for truly I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you shall say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it shall move; and nothing shall be impossible to you.
