Dealing with demons is everyday, no brainer type stuff!

However in our day, like in the day when the Lord came, many aren’t familiar with this kind of knowledge, authority or power.

When Jesus came on the scene He was different, authoritative, and demonstrative.

Their response was, “…wow, we’ve never seen it in this fashion, with authority He commands the spirits to leave and they go.” Driving out demonic oppression constituted 33 % of His ministry.

Demonic oppression was common place. Even children of faith, the righteous by faith people, were experiencing demonic oppression.

Luke 13: 11 And behold, there was a woman who for eighteen years had had a sickness caused by a spirit; and she was bent double, and could not straighten up at all.

Luke 13: 16 “And this woman, a daughter of Abraham as she is, whom Satan has bound for eighteen long years, should she not have been released from this bond on the Sabbath day?”

The apostles were trained in the same way. They were instructed to “…drive out demons.”

Out of what you might ask? In their case, as they were learning the principles of authority on a micro scale, they practiced on setting people free.

Luke 10: 17 And the seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.” 18 And He said to them, “I was watching Satan fall from heaven like lightning. 19 “Behold, I have given you authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall injure you.

The truth is we are called and empowered to walk in this realm and realize it is normal, a privilege and not scary.

It is the privilege and responsibility of the saint of God to confront unclean powers.

David must have touched on this in the tabernacle of Zion, since he touched on the authority of binding, loosing and decreeing judgment on darkness.

Psalms 149: 5-9 Let the godly ones exult in glory; Let them sing for joy on their beds.
Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, And a two-edged sword in their hand, To execute vengeance on the nations, And punishment on the peoples; To bind their kings with chains, And their nobles with fetters of iron; To execute on them the judgment written; This is an honor for all His godly ones. Praise the LORD!

This authority and power was called the “Key of David” and is part of the “keys to the Kingdom.” See Matthew 16:19vsf.

This authority over evil is the inheritance of all the Saints and it’s at the foundation of what we mean when we say we have dominion in the earth.

Isaiah 54: 14 “In righteousness you will be established; You will be far from oppression, for you will not fear; And from terror, for it will not come near you.
15 “If anyone fiercely assails you it will not be from Me. Whoever assails you will fall because of you.16 “Behold, I Myself have created the smith who blows the fire of coals, And brings out a weapon for its work; And I have created the destroyer to ruin.17 “No weapon that is formed against you shall prosper; And every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, And their vindication is from Me,” declares the LORD.

I invite you to rule in your spheres of influence. Prayer takes you into the spirit realm where you can decree the will and purposes of God. Take your place in the armor of God and watch Satan fall.
