THE PRIMARY NEEDS OF A MAN

Pastor Dwain Dealing with Jezebel

The primary needs of a man are sexual fulfillment, provision and purpose.  There are other needs, like food and shelter, but I want to just deal with these today and talk about imbalance.

We could call these gold, glory and girls, or Fame, Fortune and Females.

Wherever there are deep seated, pre-wired needs there will also be certain vulnerabilities.  That is, men will be tempted with wrong thinking and temptation to fall into sin and imbalance.

The natural mind will ask…

How will I ever get my needs met?

Does God care about my needs?

The carnal aspect of man will long to listen to the voice of Satan…and you’ll feel that war on the inside.

Satan is sly, he comes along, as he did with Adam in the garden and says, “it’s ok if you meet these needs yourself, you don’t need to consult with God, he’ll understand, after all he put these needs within you.”  But whenever these needs- passions are led by the carnal nature, outside of Fathers wisdom, a man will move into imbalance and idolatry.

Through the influence of the unclean realm these three passions turn into:  Greed gone mad, Girls gone crazy, Glory to self.

It’s because the lust of the self-nature are never satisfied.  The carnal nature is a self-oriented nature.  It is created in the image of Satan and must be worshipped and at the center of the universe.

The lust of the eyes(greed), the lust of the flesh(girls), the pride of life(glory).

Now remember at the same time, all three of these needs-passions have a valid side.  Father is not after withholding satisfaction from His kids, but He has paved a path for us to find fulfillment without blowing a gasket.  This there is a Godly provision, Godly purpose, Godly sexuality, but listen to how balance come and how you are meant to find your highest expression.

Godly provision comes through the realm of faith and is for the purpose of generosity.

Godly purpose comes through obedience to a heavenly calling and is fulfilled in serving.

Godly sexuality comes in selfless covenant to the spouse we feel led to lay down our life for.

Notice the difference in the Kingdom life?

Giving .

Serving.

Laying down our life.

Remember Satan’s influence is flowing from pride and a worship of self.  Father has shown that the highest life, most fulfilling life and the life of self-control and balance is a life of giving, serving and dying.

Matthew 6:30-33  …O men of little faith?  “Do not be anxious then, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘With what shall we clothe ourselves?  “For all these things the Gentiles eagerly seek; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.  “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you.

Don’t allow yourself to be moved into foolish imbalance, doubt or distrust.  If you are there, bounce back.  Resist the enemy and he will flee from you.  Watch for discontentment.  It’s one of Satan’s sly tools.  Don’t allow discontentment to move you into a lust that flows from Satan.  Tell Father that you trust Him, rejoice with thanksgiving in what’s He’s given you and follow Him with all your heart.

It’s in the balance of faith and contentment that you’ll find the highest life!
