The Goal of Restoration

Pastor Dwain New Creation

You are not just saved for heaven.

You are not just saved from Hell.

You are not saved just to know about God or His Son, Jesus.

You are not saved just
to attend a church or be religious.  It
‘s so much bigger and greater than all of these things!

RIGHTEOUSNESS THROUGH LORDSHIP

You need something more than the forgiveness of Sins

Yet this is where most of Religion leaves you.

#1.  Hopelessly
sinning and forever reliant upon the church and the sacraments for forgiveness.

#2.  Under the
condemnation of the Law, judging yourself by the law, not able to measure up to
the law.

God has solved the sin problem in Jesus.

God’s solution to the sin problem is making you into a New
Creation

The New Birth is a
return to all the fullness and capacity of righteous Adam.

So the New Birth is not just a saving from sins, it is the
process by which you are restored to the image of the Father.

The New Birth is a complete restoration to the Image and
Likeness of God.

Genesis 1:26  Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our
image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea
and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and
over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

27  And God created
man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He
created them.

Goal 1:  You are saved to become a Son of God.

Hebrews 2:10  For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all
things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to perfect the author of their salvation
through sufferings.  11  For both He who sanctifies and those who are
sanctified are all from one Father; for which reason He is not ashamed to call
them brethren,  12  saying, “I WILL PROCLAIM THY NAME TO MY
BRETHREN, IN THE MIDST OF THE CONGREGATION I WILL SING THY PRAISE.”

This speaks of position, adoption and regeneration.

Just as Jesus is a Son of God, you through him become a Son
of God.  Not just a church attendee, not
a beggar, not just a servant, but a son.

A son is in the family of God.  A son has a birth right.  A son receives an inheritance.
