The Fight of Faith

Pastor Dwain Uncategorized

Fighting the spiritual battle for the promises of God:

2 Peter 1:2,3  Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our
Lord. His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through
our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through
these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through
them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in
the world caused by evil desires.

Assuming you’ve heard from God concerning His precious and
magnificent promises… You’ve got some warfare to do.

Once you get a Word from God on something it’s not going to
manifest without a partnership with you in faith.  It’s not going to manifest without some war.  A Word from God is actually given to help you
make war against the curse.

I Timothy 1:18  This
charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went
before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare;  19  Holding faith, and
a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made
shipwreck:

You must fight for the Word and fight with the Word, that’s why Peter goes on to tell you to add powerful elements of victory to your faith
so you will see the manifestation of what is promised.  Read on in 2 Peter 1 and see what he
mentions.

What are Satan’s tactics?

1.  Satan wants to steal your faith in the Word by stealing your understanding.  Read the parable of the sower starting at
Luke 8:11.  You are in a wresting match
with a foe you can defeat, but only if you wrestle.  You must stay “strong” in the Lord and in the
“power of His might”.   You must “put on”
the “full armor of God”.   See Ephesisans
6:10-18.

2.  Satan wants to get you to down grade your faith to down to hope.
Hope has no “assurance” of what God will bring about in your life.  Hope is good and hope is where God starts
us.  He is constantly ministering to us
with a positive expectation.  A positive expectation
is a gift from the ministry of the spirit and it spreads over everything we do
like incense in a room.  Faith is a bit
beyond Hope.  Faith is a specific assurance
of a promise from Father based on a specific Word from Him.  Many Christians live in the realm of hope,
but seldom reach the place of Faith.
When they get a specific Word from Father they might end up letting it
go with rationalization and excuses.
Read Hebrews 11 the whole Chapter.

3.  Satan wants to delay the promise, hinder the promised fulfillment and wear you out.  Any delay in the fulfillment of a promise
will put a test on the fruit of the Spirit.  The fruit of the spirit is a direct result of
you holding on to a Word of Promise.  Notice
that Peter says that it is the magnificent promises of God that cause us to be
partakers of the divine nature.  This is
a reference to the fruit of the Spirit out of Galatians 5:20-22.
