The basis of your authority

Pastor Dwain Uncategorized

You have been given the assignment to fulfill and finish the restoration assignment given to Jesus.

Mark 16:19  After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God.  20  Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it.

Matthew 21:43  “Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you, and be given to a nation producing the fruit of it.

John 17: 16  They are not of the world, even as I am not of it.  17  Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.  18  As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world.

John 20: 20  And when He had said this, He showed them both His hands and His side. The disciples therefore rejoiced when they saw the Lord.  21  Jesus therefore said to them again, “Peace be with you; as the Father has sent Me, I also send you.”  22  And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said^ to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.

When you have been given an assignment you need to know you have the authority to do it.  Sometimes there are those who would contradict your influence or the fulfilling of your assignment because they #1 don’t know you have the authority or #2 they are rebellious #3 they are jealous.  Therefore to make things clear Father has shown us how He has given us His authority.

  1. You are adopted into the family of God through Jesus Christ

Romans 8:15  For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!”

16  The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,

17  and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ…

  1. You have been delivered from being under the power and authority of Satan:

Hebrews 2: 14  Since then the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same, that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil;  15  and might deliver those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives.

  1. You are seated with Him and in Him above all (over all) principalities and powers:

Ephesians 1:22  And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head pover all things to the church,  which is His body, the fulness of Him who fills all in all.

  1. You are hidden in Christ:

Colosians 3:2  Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.  For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

  1. You are granted the authority of Jesus the triumphant one:

Matthew 10:1  And having summoned His twelve disciples, He gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every kind of disease and every kind of sickness.

Matthew 16:19  “I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”

  1. You are deputized to use His name:

Mark 16:17  “And these signs will accompany those who have believed: in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues;  they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly poison, it shall not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

  1. You have access to the Word of God

I John 5:4  For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world– our faith.

John 15:1  “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.

2  “Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it, that it may bear more fruit.

3  “You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.

4  “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you, unless you abide in Me.

5  “I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me, and I in him, he bears much fruit; for apart from Me you can do nothing.

6  “If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch, and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

7  “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it shall be done for you.

8  “By this is My Father glorified, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples.
