The “Abiding in God” Key comes from Jesus in John 15

John 15:7 “If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.” “By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.

Abide defined by the  Strongs concordance

a prim. Verb; to stay (in a given place, state, relation or expectancy): abide, continue, dwell, endure, be present, remain, stand, tarry (for), X thine own.

Here with this word “Abide” Jesus is referring the yearning of your heart; do you pant after Him! He is saying…
• If your purpose is in me
• If your motives are to please me
• If I am your life, your source, your pleasure
• If I am the yearning of your heart
• If you are hidden in me through relationship
• If you trust me completely and trust in my Word…

…then you shall ask what you will and it shall be done.

You see, it’s important to note that there is a difference between being a typical Christian and abiding in the Lord. Abiding is the place of communion, intimacy, submission and willingness.

This scripture or comment from the Lord can’t be referring to just having the Word inside of you, that is his next comment.  This is different.  It is important to note that many of us think we are doing enough just to give the Bible a glance now and then, that must be abiding.  Some think we just need to memorize some scriptures. Others think this scripture means to be “born again” and thus applies to all who are “born again.” As much as all of these things are important in the life of a Christian, this phrase, “abide in me”, is different than all of that. It refers to you being hidden in and built upon the Jesus the living Word.
• In unbreakable Covenant
• In daily intimate Relationship
• In willing Obedience
• In lifestyle Holiness
• In the Righteousness that is by faith
• In Submission to His leading
It’s through an “abiding in the Lord” relationship that we find powerful AUTHORITY.
You can’t move into this realm of mountain moving faith without deeply abiding in the vine.

You might be a Christian and get by, but you probably never will move into the mountain moving, demon conquering, curse overcoming realm without abiding in Christ completely.

Authority is delegated to servants who are being faithful with the small things in their lives and even the “non-spiritual” things.

Luke 16:10 “He who is faithful in a very little thing is faithful also in much; and he who is unrighteous in a very little thing is unrighteous also in much.”

As God sees that you are faithful with the small things He gives you, then He will make you a ruler over more. This rule comes from God and comes by way of passion, unction, anointing, desire and an inward knowing of what you should do.

If you are not “abiding in the vine” then it could be that He is the one who is allowing the enemy to touch your life. In those cases no amount of rebuking the devil or commanding will help. When you aren’t abiding in Him, then you need to humble yourself and repent of the thing that is outside of His will.

Are you abiding in Him and trusting in Him completely or are you following Him when it is easy and convenient?

Circle the number that describes your abiding quotient. 10 being completely.

What is keeping you from a full trust?
• Fear of rejection?
• Fear of failing?
• Fear He won’t provide for you?
Look deep within and repent of the thinking that is keeping your from an abiding relationship.
