Submission Might be Top-Down

Pastor Dwain Leadership, Wisdom

Submission might be top-down spiritual power. What do I mean by that?

I mean, when you submit, others begin to adjust without you saying a word. At least that’s my opinion.

How many of us need things to work? How many of us need our kids to obey and our staff to cooperate?

Married men need their wife to follow them and live out of honor and respect. “Submit” is the terrible word that Paul used to describe the honor and respect I’m speaking of. He said, “Wives submit to your husband.” In other words, take a sub-mission to your husband’s mission and live in such a way that you support his mission.

I really think all of this is aided by a top-down positioning. I asked a friend who was noting a problem in his marriage, are you 100% submitted to your husband? Are you living in such a way as to support the mission of Jesus, your spiritual husband?

I think this shift could benefit all of us reading right now.

I think that “when a man’s ways please the Lord, He (the Lord) makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.” (Proverbs 16:7)

When we learn submission and bring ourselves under submission to the authority over us, God does amazing things in the lives of those under our charge, things in their hearts we couldn’t have done on our own.
