DREAMS; THE FIRST EDGE
You will spend the majority of your time in the marketplace
You are meant to be in the market place
It’s not an evil thing
You aren’t meant to camp at church
You are an ambassador to the market place
Yet sometimes we get dull, and our edge gets worn.
Dreaming is one of the edges that gets dull in the work a day world of the Marketplace.
Dreaming is one of the key edges that sets the righteous apart from the pack.
Joseph was known as a dreamer!
And a type of the Church we too are called to dream!
Genesis 37:19 “Here comes that dreamer!” they said to each other.
20 “Come now, let’s kill him and throw him into one of these cisterns and say that a ferocious animal devoured him. Then we’ll see what comes of his dreams.”
21 When Reuben heard this, he tried to rescue him from their hands. “Let’s not take his life,” he said.
22 “Don’t shed any blood. Throw him into this cistern here in the desert, but don’t lay a hand on him.” Reuben said this to rescue him from them and take him back to his father.
23 So when Joseph came to his brothers, they stripped him of his robe–the richly ornamented robe he was wearing–
24 and they took him and threw him into the cistern. Now the cistern was empty; there was no water in it.
Dreams move you into influence.
You’re destiny in the market place is a destiny of influence.
Be it Abraham
The list goes on with how God used his people in the marketplace, many time the secular market place to bring change, testimony, preservation and Glory to God.
HAVE YOU QUIT DREAMING?
How many of us are just working a job?
How many have quit dreaming?
How many of us don’t dream for our company?
We still might have a personal dream but we’ve stopped dreaming for the company.
Joseph never stopped dreaming.
Dreams are the richest thing you possess.
America is not greater than other nations because of resources, but rather because of ideas.
A grace environment is a dreaming environment.
Yet we might have a tendency to get to so focused on the trees of our vocation, that we loose sight of the forest.
You were made to dream.
You must give time to your intellect. Your imagination.
Nothing is as valuable as the potential of intellectual wealth.
Every invention of man started with a conception.
A crazy idea.
A dream, as a solution to a problem. And many famous breakthroughs in life came as inspiration from God.
Chuch Yeager dreamed that with a Jet engine he could break the sound barrier.
How many small dreams, seeds, ideas, we never hear about make the difference in every day life.
From Joseph we can learn a lot about dreams and dreaming:
