The beggarly position we often adopt with God keeps us on the outside, unsure of if we are really on the inside or not.
We keep asking much from Father, but then we don’t receive it well.
How often do you use the language of receiving?
“I receive provision today, thank you Father!”
“I receive sustenance today.”
“I receive the wisdom of Christ Jesus today.”
I know that many of us use this language – and maintain this mindset – very little. But what if each day is a day of delight, wherein Father is delighting in you?
What if His thoughts toward you are for good?
What if He delights in surprising you and overwhelming your life with blessing?
Psalms shows us that the steps of a good man are ordered of the Lord, and that He delights in His way.
Psalms 37:23 – The LORD directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.
Here is the same verse in a couple of parallel versions:
NIV – The LORD makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him.
KJV – The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.
Receiving prayers have an incredible amount of power.
God’s been coaching me to bring to Him more receiving prayers. These prayers are like a magnet to His goodness. Receiving prayers bring you into a realm of faith that is like the opening of the mouth to be fed and cared for.
I didn’t ask for a humpback to breach in the ocean before our boat in Alaska, but God…
I didn’t ask for an orca to breach and twirl, but God…
These were holy surprises from Father because He is that good. And He wants to lavish the same things on you.
If this has blessed you, be sure to share it! I’ll have one more part in this series on God’s favor, so keep your eyes peeled!
