Mark 5:24 And He went off with him; and a great multitude was following Him and pressing in on Him.
25 And a woman who had had a hemorrhage for twelve years, 26 and had endured much at the hands of many physicians, and had spent all that she had and was not helped at all, but rather had grown worse, 27 after hearing about Jesus, came up in the crowd behind Him, and touched His cloak. 28 For she thought, “If I just touch His garments, I shall get well.” 29 And immediately the flow of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of her affliction. 30 And immediately Jesus, perceiving in Himself that the power proceeding from Him had gone forth, turned around in the crowd and said, “Who touched My garments?” 31 And His disciples said to Him, “You see the multitude pressing in on You, and You say, ‘Who touched Me?'” 32 And He looked around to see the woman who had done this.
33 But the woman fearing and trembling, aware of what had happened to her, came and fell down before Him, and told Him the whole truth.
34 And He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.”
The woman of Mark 5, with an issue of blood, named her expectancy (hope) and made a demand on God based on His character and historical precedent (people had been healed by touching his garment).
She said, “If can just touch the hem of his garment I shall be made well”. When she pressed through the crowd and touched him, virture was released based on her faith.
Faith can press you through a crowd and bring you right up to the front of the line.
Faith is you moving out to obtain your hope NOW.
Her faith clearly had an object(healing), and for that object she was not shamed or condemned. Though it was a selfish object she was not shamed or condemned.
She was affirmed by Jesus for her faith because of what her faith brought about.
What about you?
Are you making a press upon God?
Are you moving hope into the now realm through faith?
Are you declaring the movement of your mountians or hoping for mountains to move?
We retreat because “it didn’t work”. But God is calling us to bring our hopes into the NOW realm again.
