Today marks the celebration of one of the most important American’s to every grace our soil. I was blessed that several of my interactions today involved African Americans. What a blessing to have them in my life. Our exchanges were friendly and peaceful. I’ve come to know that God has hidden something special in the races and that we need each other deeply. No one is exalted above another. In February we will commemorate more fully our rich heritage of Black America.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. took amazing personal risk and led our country to a better day. We enjoy his dream today and I trust he is looking from heaven and rejoicing.
We would be naïve to think that our land is totally free of prejudice and discrimination. I’m sure you’ve seen hints of it yourself. Let’s take personal risk, let’s fight to keep Dr. Kings dream alive by dispelling the enemies of humanity and unity wherever they linger.
Be intentional with kindness at all times with those of different races. We want more than tolerance, we want forgiveness, grace, mercy and true love from the heart.
