If you see yourself as a loser, you will be more prone to accept losing. If you see yourself winning, on the other hand…
Through the Word of God, the Christian can receive a renewed mind, complete with a mindset of victory and overcoming.
The earth was given to Adam and his kids to be tended, enjoyed and ruled over. And this wasn’t just some things: all things were to be ruled over, including the serpent – and, therefore, all spiritual powers as well.
We find in Genesis the record of Adam’s failure to rule and subdue.
What the first Adam did not fulfill, the second Adam came to complete. He was successful in winning a great victory against our foe. He did not come to do this with Himself in mind, but rather with us in mind.
2 Corinthians 8:9 – “For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich.”
He won a victory over Satan, as the son of man, to grant us His authority and victory.
Psalm 72:8-11 – “He will rule from sea to sea and from the river to the ends of the earth. The desert tribes will bow before him and his enemies will lick the dust. The kings of Tarshish and of distant shores will bring tribute to him; the kings of Sheba and Seba will present him gifts. All kings will bow down to him and all nations will serve him.”
This rule of Jesus was launched at His coming (first advent) when He arrived to deliver men from the Kingdom of Darkness into the Kingdom of God and launch the Kingdom of Heaven on earth.
Matthew 16: 28 – “Truly I say to you, there are some of those who are standing here who shall not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom.” (This is a parallel to Daniel 7 which we quoted in the last blog).
After defeating Satan and the testimonies that accused mankind Jesus ascended to represent all who call upon Him.
Colossians 2:13-15 – “When you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions, having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. When He had disarmed the rulers and authorities, He made a public display of them, having triumphed over them through Him.”
Through the resurrection, Jesus has been exalted to His throne in the heavens and is ruling from there.
Acts 2: 33 – “Therefore having been exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He has poured forth this which you both see and hear.”
Galatians 4:26-28 – “But the Jerusalem above is free; she is our mother. For it is written, ‘Rejoice, barren woman who does not bear; break forth and shout, you who are not in labor; for more numerous are the children of the desolate than the one who has a husband.’ And you brethren, like Isaac, are children of promise.”
When I read these scriptures I began to realize we don’t need Him to come back physically to begin a rule of dominion in the earth. He is seated in the heavenly Jerusalem now. He is ruling now. He is now the power and authority of victory the true believer stands in!
Is there a greater realm of His rule to be manifest? Yes. Absolutely. His dominion is progressively manifesting in the earth as He wins the souls of men. And as we agree with His dominion and lift the theology of limitation off our prayers and vernacular, we will see an increase of His glory and ministry. As we agree with His present victory, we release more victory into the earth.
Join me in an affirming prayer.
“Father, I repent for knowingly and unknowingly putting limits on the dominion and glory of Jesus. I agree that you are victorious through Him, and that He is reigning over the enemy right now. All shaking is preparing me for a greater level of ruling and reigning with Him. I place my confidence in you. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
