Where you know the will of God you are called to fight for it

Jesus called this binding and loosing…

God with Jeremiah called this plucking and planting…

Jeremiah 1:9  Then the LORD stretched out His hand and touched my mouth, and the LORD said to me, “Behold, I have put My words in your mouth. “See, I have appointed you this day over the nations and over the kingdoms, To pluck up and to break down, To destroy and to overthrow, To build and to plant.”

God has given us His word, His will, His knowledge and understanding so that we will take dominion in this world and rule over it in righteousness.  Of this assignment He hasn’t changed His mind.

Genesis 1: 28  And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.  (KJV)

There is no other tool for establishing His dominion in the earth.

  • His Word and His will is the basis for all government and life.

Isaiah 9: 6,7  For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.  There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, On the throne of David and over his kingdom, To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness From then on and forevermore. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will accomplish this.

  • Heaven and earth will pass away, but not His Word.

Matthew 24: 35  “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words shall not pass away.”

  • His Word will accomplish what it is sent out to do.

Isaiah 55: 11  So shall My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me empty, Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.

Now we must see that we are the vessels of the sending.  We are the tools of His declaration, just as Jeremiah was.

He is not using angels in this day to declare His will, His angels in this age are the servants of His Word in our mouth, as it was with Daniel  (Hebrews 1:14).

Daniel 10:12  Then he said to me, “Do not be afraid, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart on understanding this and on humbling yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to your words.

God told Jeremiah that through his words He would…

Pluck up and breakdown…this phrase is an agricultural term.  God uses agricultural language to illustrate the way things grow and develop in the earth and in spiritual kingdoms.

Destroy and overthrow…this is a construction metaphor.  God uses construction language to further illustrate the same point.

Through these two metaphors He clearly shows us how all things begin, grow and change for new growth whether spiritual or physical.

Then using again the same two metaphors, as throughout all scriptures, He says that with our words we are to build and plant the things we desire and the things He desires.

Thus He shows us that in many and most cases there are two steps to the making of progress for good.

  • Plucking and then planting
  • Destroying and building.

God Himself started with something that was needing a change.   The earth was formless and dark.  This is an example of how you and I must start to bring change to all of life.

Genesis 1:2  Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.  And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.

Hebrews 10: 9 … He takes away the first in order to establish the second.

Romans 4: 17  …as it is written, “A FATHER OF MANY NATIONS HAVE I MADE YOU” in the sight of Him whom he believed, even God, who gives life to the dead and calls into being that which does not exist.

It’s not uncommon for God to take something away and to establish something better.  As we’ve seen, this is a farming principle too.  When you see something evil what are you to do?

Through the prophet Jeremiah God has shown us the pattern in coming against evil.  Cast it out, declare it fallen and overthrown!   Then we are to plant and build by declaring the good things that God has desired and call them to come forth.
