Daniel Fast Day 1

Pastor Dwain Daniel Fast 2014

Today we launch!  This is the day the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it.  I pray you’ll join me on this a 21 day journey in knowing Him more, knowing His grace, knowing His character and His purpose.

I’m fasting meat, sweets, wine and luxuries that are legal for me in Christ.  I am setting aside pleasurable things to let Him know He is my supreme pleasure.  I’ll be spending some time in prayer at each meal time to get the most out of my humble diet.  As Daniel prayed three times a day, I’ll do the same.  I pray you’ll join me in this quest.

Joshua 1:1  After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, the Lord said to Joshua son of Nun, Moses’ aide: “Moses my servant is dead. Now then, you and all these people, get ready to cross the Jordan River into the land I am about to give to them—to the Israelites.

Father is leading us into a new promise land with new vision.  There is a “crossing over” and that will set the stage for the new.  We keep hearing that we should get ready for the new.

There are four categories of new we should consider.

  1. There is the brand new direction and brand new promise.  Things we’ve never heard before.
  2. There is the rekindling of things that Father has said before.  These could include things we forgot about, walked away from or things that He didn’t bring more emphasis to because it wasn’t season.  Either way, He is breathing new life on some things we’ve heard before, because it’s now season.
  3. There is also a “starting over.”  Just recently this was a prophetic word over the church. In a two week period, three prophetic words came, saying you are starting over.  As in a fresh start, a good start, a wonderful start.  This could be happening with you in some areas of life too.
  4. There is fresh grace to go further and higher in the things you love, things dear to your heart, things you already are walking in.

Ready your heart by seeking Him.  Ready your heart with tenderness before Him.  Ready your heart with repentance.  Ready your heart with a willingness to change.
