The church has lost its saltiness.
Matthew 5:13-14 – “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled under foot by men. You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden…”
Do we really think that compromise with the world will make us relevant? I say it will guarantee our extinction.
The life of the most effective believers has brought conviction of sin. There is a saltiness that comes when we mix and live with all who were our friends and they see what has happened to us and they hear us testify of the redeeming power of the Lord. If the spirit of prophecy is upon us, we might be able to speak right to the heart of their heart.
1 Corinthians 14: 24-25 – “But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or an ungifted man enters, he is convicted by all, he is called to account by all; the secrets of his heart are disclosed; and so he will fall on his face and worship God, declaring that God is certainly among you.”
Our churches have lost their salt and the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Some years ago I was blessed to testify to the senate committee considering what was at that time House Bill 1523, a bill to support transgender expression. There were a host of us there to testify for and against the bill.
The problem? All confessed to be Christian, and all confessed to be church members. So the senate committee sat and listened to a confused bunch of people present exactly opposite views- using as their platform God’s word and the credentials of Christ. My conclusion since watching this and similar happenings in America? 50% of the “church” is pro-homosexual, believing it is right and good. It is friendly fire that has set this trap. The church has been sabotaged by the salt-free.
Those promoting salt-free living don’t want to offend. They say that God is love, that Jesus is love and acceptance. Unconditional love says, “God can’t love you any more than He does right now, regardless of your lifestyle.”
Of course this is true. I love my kids no matter what they do, but that doesn’t mean I bless them all the same, am pleased with them the same and feel one with them all the same. If they want to dwell with me, in my house, they will need to come to a place of walking with me.
Jesus said, “unless your righteousness exceeds the Pharisee’s you cannot enter the Kingdom of Heaven.”
Matthew 5:19-20 – “Whoever then annuls one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever keeps and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I say to you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.”
Grace is not the exemption from the Laws of God: Grace is the law written on your heart. Grace is the inner witness and inner power. Grace is the ability of Jesus in us. Grace is a heart of flesh and not a heart of stone. God said, “I will write my laws on their heart and give them a heart of flesh.” That’s what the Spirit of Jesus does to us on the inside.
Jeremiah 31:33 – “But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days,” declares the LORD, “I will put My law within them and on their heart I will write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.”
Ezekiel 36:26-27 – “Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will be careful to observe My ordinances.…”
