Let’s make the body healthy by connecting this week!
Connect means “to be joined together”
Why do we need to be joined together?
Ephesians 3:10 declares that the manifold wisdom of God is known in any local region or community (spiritual and natural) through the church.
The church is always a reference to the called of God in a local community…the gathering of the people of God.
We might say, the church is a vessel – vehicle – many membered body, meant to deliver the wisdom of God to the world and meant to confront the wisdom of darkness.
Yet as we learned yesterday, as with loose pieces of pipe in close proximity, if we are not connected we can’t fulfill the delivery.
What connects us and makes us different than any other group or organization?
Unconditional love is what we are joined with.
Unconditional love is what we are called to so that we can be connected and thus effective.
If we are connected in unconditional love we will deliver the powerful wisdom of God to the spirit realm and manifest this wisdom in the natural realm.
This LOVE is defined in I Corinthians 13:4-7
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails.
Wow, mediate on this for a while and write what God shows you.
This kind of love is not a love that just springs up with the fling of a wand. No this is a love that must be learned and developed.
Then take a look at 1 John 3
16 This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. 17 If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? 18 Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.
These are the expectations of God concerning our love for each other.
Take a few minutes and think about how this kind of love dcould transform your life.
